The Southeast Oklahoma community is mourning the passing of Brett Dewayne Campbell, who died on July 27, 2026, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 39, with his mother by his side. His passing has left family, friends, and loved ones grieving the loss of a man remembered for his generosity, love of the outdoors, and unwavering dedication to the people closest to him.

Born in Ada, Oklahoma, on June 14, 1987, Brett was a lifelong resident of Southeast Oklahoma. Throughout his life, he developed deep connections with his family, friends, and the natural surroundings that shaped many of his favorite memories. Those who knew him remember him as someone who valued simple joys, adventure, and the company of the people he loved.

Brett had a true passion for the outdoors. He enjoyed spending time in the mountains, exploring trails in his four-wheel-drive truck, and riding four-wheelers through the landscapes he loved. For him, the outdoors represented freedom, adventure, and a place where he could create lasting memories with friends and family.

One of Brett’s greatest passions was deer hunting, an activity that allowed him to spend time in the mountains near his home while enjoying the peace and beauty of nature. His appreciation for the outdoors was a defining part of who he was, and many friends will remember the stories, experiences, and moments they shared with him during those adventures.

Beyond his hobbies, Brett was known most for his love of family and friends. Those close to him described him as someone who was always willing to help others and offer support whenever it was needed. His kindness and willingness to lend a helping hand made him a respected and appreciated member of his community.

Brett’s family was at the center of his life. He cherished his role as a father and took pride in the relationships he built with his loved ones. Though his family is facing an unimaginable loss, they continue to honor his memory by reflecting on the love, care, and moments they shared with him.

Brett was preceded in death by his sons, Kyler Campbell and Kylan Rase Campbell, as well as his grandparents, Larry Masters and Leisa Masters.

He is survived by his mother, Chrystal Winship; his children, Tranden Brace Campbell and Zailey Louise Campbell; his brother, Landon Carper and wife Lyndsi; and his niece and nephew, Creed and Brinlee Carper. His family will continue to carry forward the memories and legacy of a man who meant so much to them.

A graveside service honoring Brett’s life will be held at Rufe Cemetery on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at 11 a.m., with Bo Dale officiating. Family, friends, and community members will gather to pay their respects and celebrate the life of a beloved son, father, brother, and friend.

Serving as pallbearers will be Phillip McCleskey, Clint Provence, Landon Carper, Zack Naylor, Kym Bryant, Frankie Morris, and Keith Wesley. Honorary pallbearers include Bill Carper, TJ Franklin, Terry Winship, Jason Gipson, and Larry Wayne Masters.

Although Brett Campbell’s life ended at the age of 39, the memories he created and the kindness he showed will continue to live on through the people who knew and loved him. His love for family, friendship, and the outdoors will remain an important part of the legacy he leaves behind.
